Apples and Houses, in memory of my mother’s home and the last apples from her orchard.

Accordian book covered in linen with laser printed title inset on Rives BFK; 12 silver gelatin print photographs; printed in negative; drymounted back-to-back on linen; endpapers of pigmented paste monoprints.

"This book was made in response to the death of my mother and the sale of her home. I made several books during that period that commemorate my parents’ home and garden. The images depict this home, a Victorian farmhouse outside Ithaca, as well as my own Greek revival farmhouse. The apple images were made from a basket of apples that I saved after the sale. As they dried and shriveled I photographed them. I was most intriqued by their image in negative, so I printed them in negative."
