Central New York Train Fair | Modellbahnmesse in Central New York

19/12/04: After rebuilding the layout, Hope brought it to the Central New York Train Fair where it attracted young and old to our Central New York ETE Chapter booth. The kids loved driving the trains, and everyone was fascinated by the scale, and/or thought we were crazy.

19.XII.04: Nachdem wir die Anlage umgestaltet haben brachte Hope sie zu unserer regionallen Modellbahnmesse wo sie Zuschauer zu unserem Central New York ETE Chapter Stand lockte. Die Kinder haben sich gefreuet daß sie fahren durften, und jeder war vom Maßstab fasziniert und/oder dachte wir wären bescheuert.

Rebuilding | Umgestaltung

10/16/04: After laying dormant and gathering dust for almost a year with damage, the uncompleted layout was rebuilt and landscaped in time for the Central New York Rail Fair in November. This included re-scenicing and re-laying of the track, pouring a "real" lake, adding some structures. A backdrop (Faller and MZZ) which can be dropped into the frame was added last. A z-layout was also integrated into the background of our, still in process, H0 layout.

10.X.04: Nachdem die Anlage lange im Keller lag und fast ein Jahr lang Staub und andere Schäden ansammelte, wurde die Landschaft umgestaltet und wieder aufgebaut rechtzeitig für die Central New York Rail Fair im November. Die Umbauarbeiten beinhalteten eine richtige Begrünung, die neu-verlegung der Gleise, einen richtigen See, und einige Bauten. Ein Hintergrund (Faller mit MZZ) kam auch dazu. Eine z-Anlage wurde auch in den Hintergrund unserer noch im Aufbau befindlichen H0 Anlage integriert.

Moving | Der Umzug

6/8/03: The H0 layout is demolished, we've moved, and all of us needed a train fix. Dug out Hope's bare z-scale layout from amongst the boxes, and played with the trains. When the H0 layout gets rebuilt, a z-scale layout will be incorporated in the background.

08.VI.03: The H0 Anlage is demoliert, wir sind umgezogen, und all brauchten einen Modellbahn-fix. Hope's kahle z-Anlage von unter Kisten ausgegraben, und dann nix wie mit der Bahn spielen. Wenn die H0 Anlage wieder aufgebaut wird, wird eine z-Anlage im Hintergrund mit eingeplant.

First Layout | Erste Anlage

9/01/02: After playing around for a while, Hope was inspired to create her own fantasy layout. Track plan is a simple circle with figure-8 inside. The landscaping of papier-mâché over foam insulation will evoke memories of place she's lived: Maine, Turkey, Syracuse, and Ithaca. Included will be rocks, shells, sand, and other found objects. 

01.IX.02: Nach dem sie etwas herum gespielt hat, war Hope inspieriert ihre eigene Fantasieanlage zu bauen. Der Gleisplan ist ein einfacher Kreis mit einer 8 in der mit. Die Landschaftsgestaltung, aus Papier-mâché über schaumstoff Isolierungsplatten, wird Erinnerungen erwecken von Gegenden wo sie gelebt hat: Maine, die Turkei, Syracuse und Ithaca. Materialien sind Muscheln, Steine, Sand, und andere gefundenen Sachen.

3/25/02: After years of wishing for her own trains, Hope was given a Märklin mini-club startset. First lesson, don't blow bits of dirt off when trains are on the track. They will fly away. This start set was augmented by some more freights, a couple of thunderboxes (to go with the original BR74), and the B&O streamliner set. Peter's brother Gero made the mahogony "table" with insert. This will allow Hope to design her own layouts and reuse the frame at will.

25.III.02: Nachdem sie sich schon immer Ihre eigene Eisenbahn gewünscht hat, bekam Hope Ihre eigene Märklin Startpackung. Erste Lektion, nicht den schmutz von den Gleisen blasen wenn sich ein Zug darauf befindet. Er wird vom Gleis fliegen. Die Startpackung wurde mit mehreren Güerwagen, einigen Donnerbüchsen, und dem B&O Streamliner ergäntzt. Gero hat den "Tisch" aus Mahagonyholz gefertigt. Die Platte ist leicht austauschbar. So kann Hope Ihre eigenen Anlagen gestalten und den Rahmen immer wieder benutzen.
