One-of-a-kind, hand bound book that contains memories of Ms. Stevenson’s
childhood in Shanghai, China during World War II. Book is designed around
a silkworm cocoon and the first 21 of 124 Mohawk Superfine pages contains
the story of raising silkworms, in calligraphy using brush with Sumi
ink. Book structure is based on Pamela Spitzmueller’s long stitch
with circle on a vellum spine support. Cover is Iowa handmade flax paper.
Handmade box is covered in black cloth.
